Greg Futch is a founding member of Power, Jaugstetter & Futch. Greg is a well respected lawyer in McDonough, Henry County, Georgia.

Greg has dedicated himself to the betterment of his community and profession throughout his legal career. Greg is a former assistant district attorney in both Dekalb and Henry Counties, the current Municipal Judge for the City of McDonough, and has served as Special Master for the Superior Courts of Henry and Butts Counties, as a visiting Judge for the State Court of Henry County, and as Judge Pro Tempare for the Juvenile Court of Henry County. He has also presented at continuing education courses through the State Bar of Georgia. Greg is a member of the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia. These roles and responsibilities give Greg an insider's viewpoint of the legal system.

Greg is a registered court mediator to mediate all types of cases, and he is one of a select few attorneys certified lawyer to represent clients in death penalty cases. Greg has assisted clients in almost every County in Georgia for over a quarter century.

Greg is the lead Divorce and Criminal Defense Lawyer in the firm. His experience assists clients in complex and simple matters. No matter what the issue is, Greg can assist you in your divorce, custody dispute, child support collection or criminal defense. During the course of his career, Greg has represented both the State of Georgia in criminal cases as well as those accused of crimes against the State from misdemeanors to the death penalty. He has represented clients in their divorce cases and has assisted in the collection of child support.

Mr. Futch has extensive experience criminal law, having served as an Assistant District Attorney for almost 8 years in both the Stone Mountain and Flint Judicial Circuit. Mr. Futch is also death penalty certified having prosecuted and defended death penalty cases. Mr. Futch is also a past officer of the criminal law section of the State Bar of Georgia.

Experience:

  • Served as lead or sole counsel in over 200 criminal jury trials.
  • Handled over 1,000 criminal cases including DUI, aggravated assault, rape, battery, theft, and murder.
  • Mr. Futch successfully defended the accused in a death penalty case resulting only in life imprisonment.

                                 Illustrative Experiences

Recently, Mr. Futch defended a young man charged with aggravated assault in Henry County.  He was alleged to have assaulted several young men at a neighborhood pool with a gun however, in reality he was protecting himself and his young children from the alleged victims.  The State wanted him to go to prison.  Mr. Futch defended him before a jury and he was found not guilty on all charges.

Mr. Futch has successfully defended individuals charged with rape, burglary, murder and various other serious crimes.
